Ten with the Text -- September 13, 2009

      
The 8th Chapter of Mark is a transition point in this gospel. Jesus asks his disciples who people say that he is and then more pointedly he asks them who they say he is. Peter's great reply is "You are the Messiah." But we learn only a few verses later that Peter really doesn't understand the "vocation" of this Messiah.
